Caffè Moak was born in Modica, a city symbolic of the chocolate tradition. During Arab rule, Modica was called Mohac, and founder Giovanni Spadola wanted to pay homage to his hometown by choosing to name his company after his homeland. We wanted to pay homage to Modica not only with our name, but also with our chocolate. Modica IGP chocolate with orange peel combines the richness of cocoa with the citrusy freshness of orange. Prepared with fine cocoa mass, cane sugar and a generous percentage of powdered orange peel (4 percent), this chocolate offers a unique texture and intense flavor, where the sweetness of cocoa blends harmoniously with the freshness of orange. A perfect encounter between Sicilian tradition and a touch of citrus freshness, for an unforgettable taste experience.

The Aztecs prepared a drink called xocoatl with cocoa beans, flavored with local spices. Thanks to Spanish conquerors, the recipe arrived in Modica, where sugar was added, resulting in the chocolate we know today. Still handcrafted according to tradition, Modica chocolate is a delicacy that will make you fall in love, as it did us.
