Caffè Moak was born in Modica, a city symbolic of the chocolate tradition. During Arab rule, Modica was called Mohac, and founder Giovanni Spadola wanted to pay homage to his hometown by choosing to name his company after his homeland. We also wanted to pay homage to Modica with our chocolate. Modica IGP coffee chocolate is an irresistible encounter between the rich flavor of cocoa and the enveloping aroma of coffee. Prepared with fine cocoa mass, cane sugar and ground coffee (1.5 percent), it offers a rough texture and intense flavor, where the aromatic notes of coffee blend perfectly with the sweetness of cocoa. A unique taste experience, ideal for those who love the combination of chocolate and coffee, in a traditional Sicilian form.

The Aztecs prepared a drink called xocoatl with cocoa beans, flavored with local spices. Thanks to Spanish conquerors, the recipe arrived in Modica, where sugar was added, resulting in the chocolate we know today. Still handcrafted according to tradition, Modica chocolate is a delicacy that will make you fall in love, as it did us.
